We are proud to announce that the Society of Decorative Painters is represented at the Smithsonian’s Renwick Gallery in Washington D.C. this holiday season. Ornaments—five hundred of them—handpainted by SDP members, will adorn the tree in the Grand Salon of the Renwick.

The ornaments, each of which is inspired by an individual painting in the Renwick Permanent Collection, are a donation from the Society of Decorative Painters to the Smithsonian American Art Museum to decorate the holiday tree. SDP wishes to sincerely thank every artist member who participated in this project. The ornaments were painted by a wide range of artists who vary in experience from beginner to Certified Decorative Artist and Master Decorative Artist, and in age from six years old to eighty-something.
